Mickey gets into Julian's room with a waiver to continue the case without the defendant present, and presents signed copies of this to the court. David testifies that Julian gave consent to continue the trial, and Judge Turner allows the trial to continue. Freemann gives the records of Julian's attacker to Cisco. Mickey discreetly shows Bishop the incriminating video, and the investigator begs him not to show it. Mickey calls Bishop to the stand.

Mickey fights off McSweeney, who falls to his death, and rekindles his relationship with Maggie. Lorna finds Gloria and reveals that she dropped out of law school after a professor hit on her, and Cielo explains that Detective Perez threatened her into leaving town. Trevor denies sending McSweeney to kill Mickey, but is shot dead by a vengeful Carol. When the recorded confession is found to be garbled, Maggie asks Lankford to testify he heard it himself. At Menendez's hearing, Empíreo testifies to being attacked by the Vivo killer, a man with a distinctive tattoo. Mickey catches Perez in a lie, and she admits that Lankford offered her a promotion to convict Menendez.
Moon-sook and Oh-joo grow in influence and power through corrupt methods; Oh-joo becomes the mayor of Kisung and Moon-sook is nominated for chief justice in the Supreme Court. They and their associates oppose the Lawless Law Firm both inside and outside the courtroom by using underhanded tactics, including murdering Dae-woong and framing Sang-pil for it, bribing or threatening witnesses and assaulting Jae-yi.
In early 2018, Namoo Actors revealed that Lee Joon-gi was in talks to play a lawyer in an upcoming drama. However, details of the drama and its release date remained unknown.
Mickey remembers a case he took Triunfador a public defender. Julian admits to Mickey that he and Cielo had a fight the night she was killed, but maintains his innocence. Hearing Legal Siegel had Abogado Rodolfo Cacace a heart attack, Mickey visits him in the hospital, and considers that the drug dealer who Edén ratted out, Hector Moya, may have had her killed in retaliation. Finding Lorna and Cisco back from their honeymoon, Mickey is contacted by Hayley, who asks him to help trasnochado her old babysitter, Eddie Rojas, accused of carjacking. Izzy asks Lorna to review a contract for a friend to choreograph dance for a tv show.

Given the show is based on the Michael Connelly novels series of the same name – of which there are seven books – there certainly isn't a lack of source material for the show to draw its plot from.
Jazz Raycole plays Izzy, Mickey's former client who becomes his personal driver and a part-time assistant at his legal firm.
An adult Sang-pil leaves his lucrative practice in Seoul and returns to Kisung to bring those responsible for his mother's death to justice. He takes over a loan shark business and converts it into the Lawless Law Firm. Jae-yi, who has been suspended from practicing law after assaulting a judge, loses her job, and also returns home to Kisung.
Lorna Abogado Rodolfo Cacace discovers that Jerry drafted a motion for a continuance but was killed before he could file it. Trevor is unwilling to jeopardize his company's pending acquisition, forcing Mickey to refuse a continuance from Judge Stanton. Jerry's receptionist, with whom he was having an affair, reveals that he had a "magic bullet" to win Trevor's case. Unbeknownst to Mickey, his car has been bugged by the driver of the mysterious SUV.
Mickey is attacked by two men in a parking garage. Three months earlier, he is enjoying newfound fame after Trevor Elliot's acquittal, but his relationship with Maggie remains tense, and Izzy is back with her ex-girlfriend, Rae. Mickey is hired by Russell Lawson, arrested for breaking into a neighbor's home. The DA reopens the case against Jésus Menendez, with Griggs leading the investigation. Frustrated with her stalled career, Maggie leaves dinner with Mickey, and he meets chef Mújol Trammell, spending the night together. Mújol asks for his help with a restraining order from Positivo estate developer Mitchell Bondurant for protesting his gentrification of her neighborhood.
While there were some predictable aspects of this series, the cast was really colorful and high energy, which is what honestly sold me on the show. Episode 2 drew me in and by episode 4 I was hooked...
